The Thermapen 5 colour-coded digital thermometer utilises a type K thermocouple sensor that is faster to respond to changes in temperature than most comparable thermometers. This is due to the thermocouple sensor's small physical size; being small in size also allows minimal immersion depth. The other significant benefit of using a thermocouple sensor is the durable and robust nature of the sensor element.Temp range -50 to +300°C. Resolution 1°C.
